Electric Libertyland Ep 20: 11th Circuit Court Sets A No Good, Very Bad Precedent

Wednesday, May 17th, 2017

On today's Electric Libertyland, host Brian McWilliams welcomes in his brother-in-law, legal mind and conservative Democrat, Steven Betz. Brian and Steven discuss Social Justice Warriors for a bit before diving into a ruling by the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals that refused to set precedent for removing immunity from a police officer. In this case, the officer banged on the man's door at 1:30am, neglected to identify himself as an officer and then shot and killed a man in "self defense" after seeing he had a gun, even though it was pointed downwards.

Following the Circuit Court discussion, Jeff Sessions ramping the War on Drugs up again is discussed, as well as a bit of talk about James Comey's firing.

They then go on to break down the recent talk Jeff gave at the Dallas-Ft. Worth Mises Circle in which he breaks down some silver linings to the 2016 election, including how the mainstream media has lost control of the narrative in U.S. politics, and why the progressive left has largely been exposed as authoritarian. 255. Are We Reaching a Tipping Point for Liberty?

Wednesday, October 19th, 2016
In today's episode of Lions of Liberty, host Marc Clair welcomes Adam Dick of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity back to the show! Adam first appeared on this program way back in episode 40, not long after starting to write for the Ron Paul Institute, after having previously served on Dr. Paul's congressional staff. Adam and Marc discuss Adam's latest publication, "A Tipping Point for Liberty: Exposing and Defeating Leviathan Government", collecting much of Adam's writing over the past 3 years. Adam has a knack for finding stories which often highlight positive steps in the direction of liberty, and we look at a few stories highlighting recent progress made in the War on Drugs and foreign policy realms. Adam then lets loose on his criticisms of the Johnson-Weld Libertarian ticket, and explains why they would rightfully be received more positively by libertarians if they weren't running as "Libertarians."

Enjoy this fun conversation taking a positive look at the liberty movement!

Wednesday, September 14th, 2016

Much to his surprise, he is joined by several contributors of Lions of Liberty past, as "The Godfather" Howie Snowdon, "Mr. Johnson's Libertyhood" host Brian McWilliams, and "Felony Friday" host John "Odie" Odermatt pops their heads in to share some drinks and some liberty talk!
