Felony Friday 065 - Amy Povah from Convicted Conspirator to Clemency Crusader

Friday, March 31st, 2017

Today the founder of the CAN-DO Foundation, Amy Povah, joins Felony Friday to share her remarkable story. The CAN-DO Foundation is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit foundation that advocates clemency for all non-violent drug offenders. When Amy was 28 years old, she was convicted on a conspiracy charge and received a 24 year sentence. She received such a harsh sentence due to the fact that she refused to cooperate with federal officials who were attempting to infiltrate her then husband's massive ecstasy distribution ring. Amy never stopped fighting for her freedom after imprisonment. She attracted the attention of several media outlets and started a massive letter writing campaign, which led seventeen members of the House and Senate to write letters in support of Amy’s clemency. Justice prevailed when President Clinton granted Amy’s clemency on July 7th, 2000 and she was set free.

After Amy was granted her freedom she immediately started fighting injustice in the criminal justice system. Amy founded the CAN-DO Foundation and advocated for clemency for many of the women that she served time with. The organization has expanded since then and played a significant role in creating the wave of pardons granted by President Barack Obama in the final months of his term. Presidential pardon recipient and Felony Friday guest Israel Torres received assistance and support from the CAN-DO Foundation. In fact, it was the  interview with Israel that got the attention of this outstanding organization and is the reason why we have today's incredible episode.

Brian also looks at Trump's nominee for Director of National Intelligence, Justice Clarence Thomas' takedown of civil asset forfeiture, Arizona becoming a new libertarian wonderland, #Trumpcare's many, many problems and Israel decriminalizing marijuana.

There's only one cure for boogie fever, and it's a hot shot of Electric Liberty.

Electric LibertyLand Ep. 03: The Return of Rand Pauluses and Minuses

Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

On today's Electric Libertyland, Brian welcomes in a favorite of the liberty podcasting world, the one and only Johnny "Rocket" Adams, to resurrect the zombie corpse of 'Rand Pauluses and Minuses' (#Randypants), examine Trump's statements on healthcare and chat a bit about the confirmation hearing for Gen. Mattis.

Before Johnny and Brian get down, Brian also takes a few snippets of Obama's farewell speech to get the blood riled, and bathe in the egomania and race baiting that the soon-to-be-former president was so versed in.

Catch the boogie fever.

251. Hillary’s Crimes in Libya and Syria

Wednesday, October 5th, 2016
In today's episode of Lions of Liberty, host Marc Clair welcomes Jim Ostrowski back to the program. Jim first appeared on the Lions of Liberty podcast back in episode 189, in which he discussed how he became a libertarian, as well as his ideas about how best to achieve liberty ideals outside of politics and his thoughts on progressivism. Today, he returns to the program to discuss a book, co-authored with his brother Michael, which seeks to make the case that both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton committed impeachable crimes with their actions, both covert and overt, in regards to the wars in Libya and Syria.

If your friends support Hillary because of her foreign policy "experience", this is one show you'll want to be sure to listen to in order to hit them back hard with the facts.
