Wednesday May 02, 2018

On this week's Electric Libertyland, host Brian McWilliams is joined by author and comedian Bridget Phetasy. In today's episode, Marc vents some frustration before welcoming in the co-host of the Scottish Liberty Podcast - as well as the "Be Yourself and Love It" podcast. Antony discusses his evolution to a libertarian after some Ron Paul fans "gate crashed" his YouTube channel - and actually began to change his perspective on politics. Since then Antony has become a hardcore libertaran and taken his beliefs to the masses in his homeland of Scotland and abroad with the Scottish Liberty Podcast. Marc and Antony discuss the best ways to approach discussing the ideas of liberty with both those on the right and the left, and the unique nature of turning someone into a libertarian, one argument at a time.

ELL 069: Journalist Ford Fischer On Newnan, Georgia's Neo Nazi Rally And More
Wednesday Apr 25, 2018
Wednesday Apr 25, 2018
On this week's Electric Libertyland host Brian McWilliams rails a bit about Rand Paul's flipping opposition to Mike Pompeo's Secretary of State nomination, then welcomes in journalist Ford Fischer of News2Share.com to discuss his experience on the ground in Newnan, GA covering a neo nazi rally that drew far more Antifa than nazis. The Georgia event resulted in conflicts between the massive police force in attendance and counter-protesters, both of whom outnumbered event organizers many times over.
Brian and Ford then move on to discuss questions of the state's duty to protect free speech vs. simply stand back to allow it, and where that line is drawn. Finally, the pair look at a conversation Ford had with sex workers following the passing of the FOSTA Sex Trafficking bill that has curtailed free speech online and damaged sex workers' ability to make a living, while arguably doing nothing to stop actual sex trafficking.
