In this episode of the Lions of Liberty Podcast, host Marc Clair welcomes in Lions of Liberty's own Brian McWilliams for another installment of the podcast adaptation of his weekly column, "Rand Pauluses and Minuses." Marc and Brian discuss Rand Paul's PATRIOT Act filibuster and the resulting fallout, including criticism from NeoCons Extraordinaire Lindsey Graham and Peter King. After getting a wee bit ranty in response to King's charge that Rand was "shameless and disgusting" for fundraising off of the PATRIOT Act protests, Marc and Brian look at the tragic story of Kalief Browder. Browder was only sixteen years old when was he was arrested for allegedly stealing a backpack and spent three YEARS on Riker's Island awaiting trial. During that time he beaten and abused by guards and inmates, and spent almost two of his three years in solitary confinement. All this time, he never received a trial and the charges were eventually dropped. Browder was often referenced by Rand Paul in his attempts to point out the need for massive reform of the justice system in the United States. Finally, we wrap things up by looking at Rand's latest "Waste Report", which points out a U.S. government program to sponsor...a cricket team? All this and more in the latest "Rand Pauluses and Minuses" podcast!
